“Kate’s Soul2Soil Landscape Design was referred to me by the builder undertaking my home renovations. The most daunting task was the front garden which was in real need of updating with a more formal landscape design and of plantings that would complement the renovations. I wanted the ‘wow’ factor when approaching my driveway from the street and Kate certainly did not disappoint.
I purchased my house in 2018 and the back garden, although a little outdated, was already landscaped and reasonably well-established. Kate’s work really was cut out for her – my front yard/garden area had some challenging infrastructure that we had to work around. My brief to Kate was that the front was to match the back but needed to be brought up to date and to fit with the landscape that we had to work with. Kate made sure to understand my vision and took the time to inspect, measure and come up with an initial concept plan that actually worked. The plan included the front verge, driveway and a multi-level landscape garden surrounding two sides of a carport, including some retaining walls and screens around the carport.
Kate was such a pleasure to work with and provided cost-effective product choices and plantings within the scope of our requirements. She even went so far as to provide guidance on where to purchase materials and plantings from, at the best possible price. I could not be happier with the end result!
I would recommend Kate to anyone looking for innovative and functional outcomes to any landscape design project”.

Queanbeyan City Council
“Queanbeyan City Council came across Kate O’Hara a number of years ago whilst Kate was completing her studies in Landscape Architecture. Staff of the Parks and Recreation Department of Council were impressed with Kate’s skills in landscape design and her enthusiasm for community based projects. As a result Council engaged Kate to undertake the landscape and upgrade of the Barracks Flat Park project. Kate impressed Council with her dedication to research the history and context of the site to implement relevancy in her design.
A number of landscape designs later and Council is still working with Kate. Her latest landscape design for Council is the Apex Park project, in conjunction with and with funding from the Queanbeyan Lions Club. The landscape design has been a collaborative effort where Kate, once again, has impressed Council with her integrated garden and play space design for all abilities and all ages. Kate has worked with staff of Council’s Urban Landscapes Department, Cultural Development Department and Community Services (disabilities) Department, the Lions Club and local community to develop the Apex Park landscape plan, that will become a widely used, impressive and amazing space for the Queanbeyan community. This space will be open to the Public in about 4 weeks time, but has already generated much interest and praise by the Queanbeyan community.
Thank you Kate, we have enjoyed working with you on this project and hope to work with you again on many more.”

Googong
“We found Kate through our land sales consultant when we purchased a block in Googong. We were moving from Sydney so once we got to the landscaping part of our build Kate was amazing at helping us get things done as we were not always able to come down to the block. Kate arranged our driveway and front garden landscaping including the retaining walls. She was always available on the phone and via email and if I did have to leave a voicemail she always called back.
Thank you Kate for making things easy for us and for the great outcome.
We would recommend Soul 2 Soil (Kate and team) to anyone looking for having any type of landscaping done.”

“Kate has provided us with a fully detailed and comprehensive plan for our garden renovation in Campbell. The renovation is extensive and includes front and back garden, hedge replacement, removal of garden architecture and installation of new architecture together with removal of unsuitable plants and replacement with new varieties. We were very impressed by Kate’s knowledge, attention to detail and professional approach. She listened carefully to our requirements, worked with us through several iterations, was available for advice and suggestions during the process and delivered a timely and elegant solution. Her plans are much appreciated by the landscapers who will carry out the work, while being fully comprehensible to the lay-person. The cheerful, competent and inclusive attitude that Kate brings to her work made the process a pleasure for us.”

Woden Valley Child Care Centre
“Kate was a delight to work with. From the very start, she demonstrated high professionalism and excellent knowledge in the field of her expertise. In her design, she demonstrated an understanding of the early childhood sector, our needs and worries, and worked well with the Centre philosophy to individualise the play spaces. The presentation of her work was clear and well explained and documented what made the process of approval easy. During the execution of the project, her contractors were respectful and met all deadlines on time. She managed the whole project and was always able to resolve any potential issues that may have arisen during the construction. I would highly recommend Soul2Soil services.”

Erindale Neighbourhood Centre
“A group of community organisations is starting a neighbourhood garden at Erindale in Canberra in early 2015. Kate O’Hara of Soul2Soil Landscape Design provided a terrific concept design for our garden. From consultation to on-time delivery of a thoughtfully produced design, Kate was interested and professional. Kate listened to what we wanted in our garden. She developed her design with those specifications incorporated, and built on them with creative flair. Kate’s design will help us build the garden we wanted. Thank you.”

Woden Early Childhood Centre
“Kate really listened to what we wanted. We spoke to the children who gave their voice to us and told us what they wanted. I shared this with Kate, and she took that away and provided a preliminary plan which we shared with the children and then provided feedback back to Kate, resulting in an authentic reflection of what we wanted. Kate was wonderful and really listened to us which was so important for this process to work as well as it did. Kate took on board all our hopes and dreams and created a stunning vision that has evolved into the most beautiful natural play space. Kate also chose the right people to implement our collective vision and the results were outstanding. Kate, I can’t thank you enough for the beautiful space you have created for our children and Educators. Thank you for going that extra mile to ensure we had a space to be proud of”.
